Asian Indianparticipants were administered the Anger Cognitions Inventory, a self-report measureassessing cognitions associated with resentful and ref l ective anger that was previouslyvalidated in a sample from the US. Results indicated that there were f i ve subscales inthe Asian Indian sample; although there were some differences in the specif i c items thatcomprise the f i ve subscales, the overall categories described by the subscales are similarin both cultures. Cognitions def i ning resentful anger were positively associated withpoor physical health, hostility, and stress, whereas self-statements indicative of ref l ectiveanger were not related to any of these variables.
