Methods  A cluster sampling method was used to select 256 medical staf f  in Closed Psychiatric Ward in Wuhan Mental Health Center from May to September 2024 as the survey objects. The Chinese revised version of the Compassion Fatigue Scale (CFS) was used to evaluate the degree of compassion fatigue. Univariate analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were used to analyze the inf l uencing factors. Results A total of 256 questionnaires were distributed in this survey, and 256 valid questionnaires were recovered, with an effective recovery rate of 100%. The total score of CFS of 256 medical staff in Closed Psychiatric Ward was (82.41±8.69) points, and the scores of three dimensions exceeded the critical value, so they were in a state of severe compassion fatigue. Univariate analysis showed that there were statistically signif i cant dif f erences in the total CFS scores of medical staf f  in Closed Psychiatric Ward with dif f erent gender, age, education background, employment type, working years, psychological capital level, professional identity, perceived social support level, and whether or not participation in pre-job training or having experiences of stress events (P < 0.05). Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that employment type, psychological capital level, professional identity, and perceived social support level were influencing factors of compassion fatigue among medical staf f  in Closed Psychiatric Ward (P < 0.05).
