Fifty dozen was all weneeded, which normally took twenty minutes.That morning, however, the process didn’tgo quickly. After forty minutes of aimlesslywalking in the field, we still needed twentydozen. I was completely frustrated and angry.Dropping the basket heavily, I declared, “If thestore wants its last twenty dozen, they canpick it themselves” Dad laughed. “Just think,my little girl, only ten dozen left for each of usand we are done. ” Such is Dad-whateverproblem he meets with, he never gives up.Unfortunately, the disastrous effects of thedrought were felt all over our county. It was achallenging time for everyone,but Dadremained optimistic. He continued to begrateful for other things like good health andfood on our plates. Only then did I truly beginto appreciate Dad and his faith that guided usthrough the hard times.Dad is also a living example of real love. Fromdawn to dusk, he works countless hours tosupport our famiIy. He always puts ourhappiness before his own, and never fails tocheer me on at my sports games in spite ofexhaustion after long days.
