Resistive Circuits Lab Activity 1. Measuring the resistance of a resistor. Read all instructions on the page before doing any work 1. Connect the power supply to a resistor. This is the circuit we will study. 2. Zero the voltmeters in LoggerPro. Connect one voltmeter across the output of the power supply and one voltmeter across the resistor. 3. Insert the ammeter in between the resistor and the power supply. 4. You will be measuring the voltage of the battery, the voltage drop across the resistor, and the current flowing through the circuit. 5. Turn on the power supply. Gradually increase the voltage and record the measurements. *Do not allow the current to exceed 600mA* 6. Analysis. How does the voltage out of the power supply compare to the voltage drop across the resistor? Use the resistor voltage and resistor current to calculate the resistance for each value of the battery voltage. 7. Graph the current vs. the voltage and use the graph to find the resistance of the resistor. Print the graph with the linear fit for your lab report.
