Scope*1.1 This test method 2 covers the determination of4-carboxybenzaldehyde (4-CBA) and p-toluic acid (p-TOL) inpurif i ed terephthalic acid (PTA).1.2 This test method is applicable to samples with 4-CBAfrom 3 mg⁄kg to 400 mg⁄kg and for p-TOL from 8 mg⁄kg to400 mg⁄kg, respectively.1.3 The following applies for the purposes of determiningthe conformance of the test results using this test method toapplicable specif i cation, results shall be rounded off in accor-dance with the rounding-off method of Practice E29.1.4 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded asstandard.
