TECHNICAL FIELD[0002] The present invention relatesto an adhesivetapeanda method for adheringthe adhesive tapeona lens whichare used in edging.2. RELATEDART[0003] Ina spectacle retail shop,a circumference of acircularspectacle lens is ground intoa shapetobe accommodatedina spectacle frame ona spectacle retailer (so-called edging). In the edging,a processing center ofa front surface ora rear surface of the spectacle lens is sucked and held by chucks of an edging machine. Alternatively, the processingcenter of the spectacle lens is sandwiched and pressed from both of the front and rear surfaces. In these states, anedge ofthe spectacle lens is ground witha grinding stone while frictionally holding the lens.[0004] Some ofthe spectacle lenses are provided thereon with an anti-dirt layer containing fluorine-containing silanecompound that exhibits excellent antipollution and abrasion resistance with sustainability. However, whenthe anti-dirtlayer containing fluorine-containing silane compoundasa main component is provided ona lens surface ofthe spectaclelens, the lens surface held by the chuck becomes too slippery. Accordingly, the lens may be slipped bya grindingpressure ofthe grinding stone with respect to the chuck, causing positional displacement (axial displacement) of thelens. Asa result, the spectacle lens cannot be accurately edged.[0005] To directthe problem,a method for adhering an adhesivetape having strong adhesion with respect tothe anti-dirt layer on the lens surface on which the chuck of the edging machine abuts is known (JP-A-2004-249454).[0006] In the method,a flat adhesive tape for edging is adhered on either ofa convex surface ora concave surfaceofthe spectacle lens or on both ofthe convex and concave surfaces ofthe lens so as to coverthe processing center.[0007] In the related art example shown in JP-A-2004-249454, the flat adhesive tape is deformed so as to fit to theconvex surface and the like of the spectacle lens to be adhered and fixed on the lens ona lens-side adhesive layerprovided ona surface ofthe tape.[0008] However, when the spectacle lens isa plus lens having high curvature of the convex surface ora minus lenshaving high curvature ofthe concave surface, the followability ofthe adhesive tape tothe lens surface will be deteriorated.Whenthe adhesivetape doesnot sufficiently followthe lens surface, the adhesivetapemay wrinkle, reducingan adhesionarea ofthe adhesivetape againstthe lens surface. Further, when water is poured on the spectacle lens to cool the lensor to remove grinding material in the edging, the watermay enter froma wrinkled portion ofthe adhesive tape.[0009] As described above, the existing flat adhesivetape wrinkles when being adheredonthe spectacle lens surface, which lowers adhesion ofthe adhesive tape with respect to the spectacle lens.SUMMARY[0010] An advantage of some aspects ofthe invention is to provide an adhesive tape exhibiting constant adhesion ona lens irrespective of curvature ofthe lens anda method for adhering the adhesive tape.[0011] An adhesive tape according to an aspect ofthe invention is interposed betweena lens and at least one ofapair of chucks of an edging machine and includesa cutout extending froma periphery towarda center portion thereof.[0012] In the arrangement,a measurement value ofthe adhesion ofthe adhesive tape may preferably be4 gf (0.0392N) or more whena polyethylene terephthalate plate that is surface-processed with fluorine-modified silicone partingagent is usedasa test plate ina 180-degree peel-back adhesion testing method defined in JIS-Z0237 ”Testing methodsof pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes and sheets".[0013] With the arrangement, when the adhesive tape is pressed to fit to the curvature ofa surface of the lens, acircumferential portion of the adhesive tape is deformed to come close (i.e. the diameter shrinks) ina circumferentialdirection. However, sincethe cutout in the adhesivetapecan absorbthe deformation, the adhesivetape doesnot wrinkle.[0014] Accordingly, irrespective ofthe curvature of the lens surface, the adhesive tape can be adhered on the lenssurface without wrinkling. Hence, even whenthe lens is watered in edging to coolthe lens or to remove grinding material, the water does not enter froma gap beMeen the adhesive tape and the lens surface, thereby preventing decrease inadhesion ofthe adhesive tape with respecttothe lens.[0015] In the adhesive tape, the width ofthe cutout may preferably become broader from the center portion toward2
