1、With the competition in the job market becoming increasingly fierce for college graduates, some ambitious students have tried their hands at launching their own business. Over the years, there have been many successful cases of student entrepreneurship and such attempts should be encouraged by both the universities and the whole society. However, not all college graduates are suitable for undertaking entrepreneurial projects. To launch a business, one needs to have a sound business idea(理念), a viable(可行的) business plan, the charisma(气质) to lead a team where members make concerted(协调一致) efforts for a common objective(目标), as well as mature managerial skills. 2、As the information technology begins to play a vital role, more and more companies chose this kind of commercial model which has become a trend(移位) nowadays. The e-commerce has a lot of advantages on reducing the cost, and one is that the advertisement is cheaper and easier on the internet, what is more, the information can be exchanged quickly, and staff can deal with their works in an efficient way. Although it is a challenge for physical shops to retain(留) customers in the face of e-commerce, industry(业内) experts said interaction and integration(融合) between online and offline vendors(商户) are vital to sustain(维持) consumption. 3、China is gradually(正) replacing the European and American countries to become the main force(主力军) of luxury goods consumption. The international luxury brands have also paid more attention to Chinese market. Chinese have spent the most (位于第一) on luxury goods overseas for several successive years (连年). Various luxury stores in the United States and Europe have become must-visit places for Chinese tourists travelling overseas, and it seems that one has not truly been abroad until he or she buys several luxury goods. The international luxury brands have long(长期) set much higher prices for their products in China than in many other countries, forcing Chinese luxury consumers to turn their eyes to foreign markets. The accumulation(叠加) of taxes, distribution costs(流通费用) and marketing costs(经销费用) are the main reasons pushing up the final sales prices(最终导致售价居高不下). 4、Cell phones are an integral (必不可少) part of our life. The convenience of this little gadget (小家伙) is what makes it the world’s fastest growing technological device, going from a luxury in the 1980s to a must-have in the 21st century. But we have become dependent on them to the point that we feel that we cannot live without them. We get so addicted to texting, calling and communicating with those who are far away that we neglect the ones who are right in front of us. Many teens and young adults grow distant from those who love them because they are consumed with creating and maintaining cyber friendships. 5、The mass media(大众传媒) and general public(公众) have focused on(关注) the negative effects bought by aging population. For one thing, aging population brings heavy burden on young people because they have to raise the whole family. For another, aging population put a great pressure on social security system for the growing number of old people. Above all, population aging negatively impacts on our country, including political and economic stability, because we don't have enough young people to work for the country. In this context(在此背景下), the government should make some policies to allow some families to get two children if the parents are both only child. Secondly, the social security system has to be supported and formed(制定) by the government. 6、The economic globalization is an irreversible(必然的) tide of the world, no matter for developed or developing countries, they must be involved in this process. There is statistical evidence for positive financial effects as well as problem that there is a power imbalance between developing and developed countries in the global economy. Furthermore, economic globalization has an impact on world cultures. Despite of it, it narrows gap between the developed and other nations. For example, the Asia-Pacific has been described as “the most integrated trading region(最具综合力的贸易区) on the planet”, its intra-regional trade accounts for as much as(占) 50-60% of the total(总额) imports and exports and helps developing countries in promoting economics. 7、Country examination was always there, and it could be dated from the Tang dynasty when it was called Imperial examination. Although the times have changed, the wish to be an official is becoming stronger. Generally, civil servant can enjoy a higher social status, greater power and prestige and means a stable income, enviable healthcare and pension programme, as well as other comforts of life. It’s quite an appealing career option to many people, especially in this age of sluggish economy. This craze in civil servant test will continue in the following years. 8、The booming of Confucius Institutes in many countries shows there is a constant rise of the worldwide fervor in learning Chinese. China’s rich culture and blossoming economy are driving their interest to learn the language. A growing number of schools and universities have added Chinese to their curriculum, sometimes at the expense of(以……为代价,忽略) other languages. The enrollment(入学人数) in such schools offering the Chinese courses has also been steadily climbing. Though the motivations may vary a lot, many learn the Chinese to get competitive in their careers. Actually, teaching of Chinese is not a recent phenomenon. The undertaking of teaching Chinese as a foreign language has developed rapidly in the past decade. The Confucius Institutes has not only offered a place for foreigners to learn Chinese, but also serves as a platform to help people understand each other. 9、China’s obsession with(重视) English is quite a unique phenomenon. Today, China is the largest exporter of students with the total number of four million in 2012. Besides, it is one of the few non-English-speaking countries that make English a compulsory subject throughout secondary and higher education. Parents and students have poured vast amounts of time and money into studying English. Yet, with a strong emphasis placed on exam passing, students fail to communicate smoothly with native English speakers. The recent English test reform has aroused a heated discussion among educators and parents. Some argue that it would change the way that English is taught without diminishing (降低) its importance. Another point of view is that heavier focus should be placed on the study of Chinese in schools as it carries with it not only cultural significance but also a sense of national pride. 10、Chinese people began to make spirits with grains seven thousand years ago. Generally speaking, wine has a close connection with culture in China in both ancient and modern times. Chinese wine culture has been playing a quite important role in Chinese people's life for a long time. Our Chinese ancestors used wine to enjoy themselves while writing poetry, or to make a toast(敬酒) to their relatives and friends during a feast. Wine culture, as a kind of culture form, is also an inseparable part in the life of ordinary Chinese people through numerous events such as birthday party, farewell dinner, wedding, etc. 11、The Tang Dynasty witnessed the peak of Chinese ancient poetry, with many renowned(著名的) poets and famous works appearing over a period of less than 300 years. Poems of the Tang Dynasty edited during the Qing Dynasty has collected more than 48,900 poems written by over 2,200 poets. These poems provide an insight into all aspects of the social life of the period. Chinese people are very fond of Tang poetry, and even children can recite some from memory, such as Thoughts in the Silent Night by Li Bai, Good Rain on a Spring Night by Du Fu, etc. Tang poetry not only serves as a most brilliant page in the history of ancient Chinese literature, but is also a miracle in the history of culture of mankind. 12、Peking opera is a traditional art in China. It is a kind of Chinese opera which was born when the Four Great Anhui Troupes came to Beijing in 1790, arose(发展) in the mid-19th century and was extremely popular in the Qing Dynasty. Peking opera is widely regarded as one of the cultural treasures of China. Although it is called Beijing opera, its origins are in the Chinese provinces of Anhui and Hubei. Beijing opera was originally staged for the court and came into the public later. Hundreds of years ago, as a new style of drama, wherever they
