    Derek Atkins Trophy and Owen Memorial Shield (A&O) Regatta Streaker and Laser II Open Meeting 24 / 25 August 2008 at Lancing SC Notice of Race Rules The Regatta and Open Meeting will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing. No national authority prescriptions will apply. Eligibility and Entry The Regatta is open to members of Lancing Sailing Club (LSC) and boats of the Streaker and International Laser II classes. All boats must have paid the regatta / open meeting entry fee (where applicable) and have submitted a completed entry and declaration form. The Derek Atkins Trophy will be awarded to the winning LSC boat in the Fast Fleet (Portsmouth Yardstick – standard PY - of 1089 and under); the Owen Memorial Shield to the winning LSC boat in the Slow Fleet (standard PY of 1090 and over). Results in both these handicap fleets will be calculated using standard PY with a Lancing Correction Factor (described at www.lancingsc.org.uk/lcf_text.html). Entry Fees There will be no entry fee for Lancing Sailing Club members. The entry fee for the Streaker class will be £10.00 per boat, per day, and for the Laser II class £24. Schedule Sunday 24 August Briefing 1020hrs 2 races back to back first start 1100hrs 2 races back to back first start 1430hrs Monday 25 August 2 races back to back first start 1100hrs 2 races back to back first start 1430hrs Separate starts may be provided for the Streaker and Laser II classes if 5 or more boats of the respective class have entered the event. Sailing Instructions The sailing instructions will be available after 12:00 on 17 August on the club’s main notice board, and at www.lancingsc.org.uk.
