Term 2 Week 1 MAY 9TH, 2013 2013 NAPLAN Test for Years 3, 5, 7 TEST SCHEDULE Tuesday 14/5 Language Conventions 20 minute break Writing Catch-up sessions Wednesday 15/5 Reading 20 minute break Catch-up session Thursday 16/5 Numeracy 20 minute break Catch-up sessions Friday 17/5 Catch-up sessions 20 minute break Catch-up sessions INVITATION TO MUM’S, GRANDMOTHER’S, AUNTIES AND CARERS. The P & F Association is extending an invitation to attend our Mother’s Day Morning Tea at 10:00am tomorrow, Friday 10th May. There is a lucky door prize! Come along and join in the generosity of our hardworking P & F. Hope to see you there! P & F Meeting Feedback I sincerely thank the parents and committee who attended the meeting this week. The students, your children, always directly benefit from any planning considered at these meetings. This meeting was very successful and the P & F contribution of $2000.00 towards the costs of our annual school camp is very much appreciated. Also the Mother’s Day Morning Tea which is on tomorrow is a great idea and I am looking forward to meeting many parents and friends. You may even win the lucky door prize which has been donated by the school! FREE—Pre-loved Uniforms in great condition. There are winter, summer uniforms and tracksuits of various sizes to choose from. You can take any sizes that you require for future years. Please feel free to come into the office and see if anything you need is here. JUNIOR JOEYS PLAYGROUP Friday morning 9:00am—10:00am In the school Library. We are looking for children from 0-4 to start Playgroup here at school. $5:00 per family - per session. Sr. Leonie visited the students this week and as a ‘country girl,’ she is very aware of the plight of our farming community. Sr. Leonie and her community are offering up many prayers to St. Mary MacKillop – for some rain. Sr. Leonie had her prayers answered yesterday with some areas receiving rain and there has been more promised. SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION 18th May—Saturday 6:00pm Liturgy of the Eucharist. Please pray for Emerson Ciabarri, Fraser Della Bosca and Joshua Nicol as they continue their faith journey. LifeLink Day Appeal envelopes are being sent home today for your consideration. We will be having a free dress at school later this term which will be student contribution to this very worthy cause. EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY T2-T4 2013 The Federal Government announced a new Literacy and Numeracy National Partnership initiative to as-sist schools to improve the outcomes of students who were showing difficulties in literacy and numeracy learning. We are seeking a relief teacher 1 day per week to assist us with the delivery of the program. Please ring the office for more details 9049 1046. Confirmation Retreat for the Year 5-7 students this Monday which will focus on their wellness and mental wellbeing. These students will be in free dress which will allow for a relaxed morning of activities.
