Teaching important point: the use of the new phrases Teaching difficult point: talk about the ways to solve the problems in their life Teaching tools: PPT Teaching procedure: Step1: Lead –in and warm up Write the title of the class while listening to music -- Fate Symphony People hope to have a lucky life. What kind of life do you think is lucky? Let the students finish the sentence on the screen. Introduce three famous disabled people to them. Step 2: New Concept I. Listening T: I’d like to introduce a disabled woman Jane to you. Please listen and circle the correct answers. Q: What is Jane unable to do? II. Read and answer T: Jane is unable to do many things, but some people say Jane is lucky. Read the passage and answer the questions. 1. How does Jane move around? 2. What’s the key sentence in Para. 3? 3. What special things does Jane have? 4. Who does Jane think is really disabled? 5. Do you think Jane is lucky? Why or why not? III. Consolidation After learning and understanding, give the Ss chances to use the language to do things. Ask the students to read a story of Hawking.
