Designation: E2568 − 17aStandard Specif i cation forPB Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems 1This standard is issued under the f i xed designation E2568; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon (´) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This specif i cation covers PB Exterior Insulation andFinish Systems (EIFS) def i ned as an exterior, non-bearing wallcovering providing a weather-resistant exterior wall envelopeon walls required to be combustible or noncombustible, f i re-resistance-rated or nonf i re-resistance-rated. Further, PB EIFSis a system described as being applied over expanded polysty-rene or polyisocyanurate insulation board, an adhesive ormechanical attachment of the insulation board to a substrate, orboth, glass f i ber reinforcing mesh, a base coat on the face of theinsulation board, and a textured protective f i nish coat.1.2 This specif i cation does not cover Class PB EIFS withdrainage.1.3 This specif i cation qualif i es EIFS products for use innormal service conditions and is not for evaluating in serviceEIFS installations.1.4 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematicalconversions to SI units that are provided for information onlyand are not considered standard.1.5 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applica-bility of regulatory limitations prior to use.2.
