Scope1.1 This specif i cation covers mineral-colloid-stabilized,concentrated, emulsif i ed, ref i ned coal tar suitable for use asweather-protective and aliphatic-solvent resistant coatings overbituminous pavements, such as those found at airports, parkingareas, and driveways. The specif i cation for this material waspreviously covered by Federal Specif i cation RP355.N OTE 1—Dilute the concentrated emulsion after testing and prior toapplication to meet the application specif i cation requirements.Applicationshall be made in accordance with Practice D3423/D3423M.1.2 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated ineach system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, eachsystem shall be used independently of the other.
